Solicitation FA442720F0031 Amendment #2 – Endoscope Drying Storage Cabinets, Travis AFB, CA
Questions and Answers:
Q: The scope inventory list has 85 scopes, but the 4 cabinets at 9 - 18 capacity would only be able to house 18 x 4 = 72 scopes max. Please clarify?
A: Not all scopes will be stored simultaneously. Some will be in use, some will be in sterilization room, and some will be in reserve.
Q: 29 Small Diameter scopes are shown on top of the 56 large diameter scopes. Is the facility planning on storing the small diameter scopes in these cabinets as well?
A: Yes, we will store all flexible scopes in the cabinets.
Q: Some types of scopes are bigger than others. How will you configure the 9 – 18 scopes per cabinet capacity?
A: Scopes will be interchangeably stored in the cabinets.
Q: What is the maximum height for cabinets?
A: 90 inches (per hospital safety officer)
Q: Given there are 4 cabinets, please clarify the electrical requirements for circuits and outlets?
A: One dedicated power outlet per cabinet (amps depend on cabinet power draw)
Q: What exactly is the contractor’s role in removal of old cabinets?
A: The contractor will physically remove the old cabinets from the 3rd floor and bring them to the 1st floor Medical Equipment Management / Logistics area. The contractor is not responsible for disposing of the cabinets.
Q: Please clarify the drywall patch and paint requirement?
A: If the contractor damages the walls during installation and removal of old cabinets, they must provide the repair. Existing damage is not the contractor’s responsibility.
Q: Clarify electrical conduit requirements?
A: Electrical conduits must not be exposed.
Q: Hanging scopes clinical compliance?
A: Hanging scopes must not touch the ground.
