Salient Characteristics for
Computer Numerical Control; Haas Vf-4 for Travis AFB, 60 MXS:
Computer Numerical Control; Haas Vf-4
SPECIFICATIONS
1.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1.1 The purpose of these specifications is to define a computer numerical control vertical milling machine. These specifications ensure current capabilities match aircraft component manufacturing process requirements. Longevity and future capabilities are outlined with rising manufacturing requirements on aging aircraft and rising demands.
1.2 Complex parts and high volume machine usage require specifications to ensure machine reliability, precision and complex designs can be manufactured. Jeopardizing these capabilities risk aircraft downtime and non-mission capable aircraft.
1.3 Our machine requirements are specific to Haas and Air Force Metals Technology Training Office requirements. This also benefits future Air Force training requirements and capabilities. Utilizing our standardized drafting software, manufacturing optimization, safety and reliability will be unmatched by any other brand of machine.
1.4 Provided maintenance contracts and/or a local field service is a requirement to accomplish effective repair. We currently have multiple machines down for repair. Due to cost, asset availability and minimal servicing technicians, these machines are inoperable. This causes volume to be increased on alternate method of manufacture causing accelerated life cycles of our equipment.
