IDC Base Roof Repair
DIVISION 2 – SITE WORK
SECTION 02110 – DEMOLITION AND REPLACEMENT
PART 1 – GENERAL
1.01 SCOPE: The work included under this section consists of removing all construction indicated on the contract drawings or as specified in these specifications. The procedures for the accomplishment of demolition work shall provide for safe conduct of the work, careful removal and disposition of materials specified and/or shown on the drawings to be removed, protection of property which is to remain undisturbed, and coordination with other work in progress. All materials resulting from demolition work, except as specified for reuse shall become the property of the contractor and shall be removed from the limits of government property.

PART 3 – EXECUTION
3.01 PROTECTION OF EXISTING WORK: Before beginning any demolition work, the contractor shall carefully survey the existing work and examine the drawings and specifications to determine the extent of the work. The contractor shall take all necessary precautions to insure against damage to existing work to remain in place and any damage to such work shall be repaired or replaced as approved by the Contracting Officer at no additional cost to the Government. The contractor shall carefully coordinate the work of this section with all other work and construction. The contractor shall insure that structural elements are not overloaded and be responsible for increasing structural supports or adding new supports as may be required as a result of any cutting, removal, or demolition work performed under any part of this contract.
3.02 DUST CONTROL: The amount of dust resulting from demolition shall be controlled to prevent the spread of dust to occupied portions of nearby buildings and to avoid creation of a nuisance in the surrounding area. Use of water will not be permitted when it will result in, or create, hazardous or objectionable conditions such as ice, flooding, and pollution.
3.03 BURNING: The use of burning at the project site for the disposal of refuse and debris will not be permitted.
3.04 USE OF EXPLOSIVES: Use of explosives will not be permitted.
3.05
DISPOSITION OF MATERIAL:
A. Title of Materials: Title to all materials to be demolished is vested in the contractor upon receipt of the Notice-to-Proceed. The Government will not be responsible for the condition, loss or damage to such property after Notice-to-Proceed.
B. Products of Demolition: All products of demolition shall be removed from Government property before completion of the project. Products of demolition which the contractor wishes not to destroy shall not be stored or sold on Government property.
3.06
DEBRIS CONTROL:
A. Removal: Debris and rubbish shall be removed from the site daily. Debris and rubbish shall not be allowed to accumulate around building or on site. Remove and transport debris in a manner as to prevent spillage on streets or adjacent areas.
B. Regulations: Local County and State regulations regarding hauling and disposal apply
