SCOPE OF WORK

W.O.#55765 Replace AFFF piping in Hangar 14

1. SCOPE: Contractor to supply all materials, labor and equipment necessary to Replace existing copper piping with stainless steel piping to Agues Fire Fighting Foam (AFFF) fire system. Also replace existing AFFF Poly Storage tanks. The contractor shall use Federal, State and Local Regulations that cover requirements for alteration/repair of real property at Travis AFB, California. The Contractor shall also use Federal, State and Local Regulations that cover requirements for storage, transportation, disposal and housekeeping activities on the site or location at which these activities are performed.

2. HOURS OF OPERATION: All work on this project shall be accomplished within the hours of7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Vendor may request extension of operating hours during time of installation. Accommodation will depend upon availability of personnel from requesting agency and to be determined by requesting agency's point of contact (POC). Extension of operating hours must be requested by the vendor a minimum of 24 hours in advance and must be authorized, in writing, by the Contracting Officer.

3. LOCATION: All work on this project will be performed at Building 14 Fuel Cell Hangar

4. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The contractor shall replace copper AFFF supply lines to the three monitors in the hangar with stainless steel piping from the AFFF supply pumps.

Replace the 3 inch copper piping on the foam pumps from the supply tanks and the 3 inch copper piping from the pumps to the supply lines near the ceiling with stainless steel pipe.

Replace the copper foam lines to the 7 AFFF sprinkler risers in the fire pump room to stainless steel. Remove the existing copper pipe and remove from the base. Install a wheel and chain on the closed 10 inch valve that is located at the ceiling for the test loop. Rotate the valve for the handle to be on the side to attach the wheel and chain device. Install new pump packing on the three, 3500 gpm electric fire pumps. Remove the pump top and .

install new inner and outer packing per factory specifications with a new pump top gasket.

Run the fire pumps and adjust packing for proper break in time. The contractor shall replace existing Poly AFFF tanks with Poly AFFF tanks of equal size and dimension. Two samples of existing AFFF will be tested to ensure quality. If samples are deficient price to .replace AFFF will be provided. Contractor shall test existing porportioners; Hangar over head fire su ression s stem to be tested throu h the test header located in ire PumplRiser room and monitor system to be tested at said monitors. Contac .government representative Mr. Randy Lovejoy at 424-1126 prior to any testing. AFFF to be disposed of through on site drain system or by allowing foam to exit the area/hanger and evaporate on the apron or hard-scape. All new piping will be hydrostatically tested. Contractor will provide the lift equipment to reach the high area of the hangar to replace the copper lines.

5. UTILITIES: Reasonable quantities of water and electricity will be provided to the contractor without charge. Needed temporary connections shall be installed, maintained and removed at the contractor's expense.

6. MATERIAL STORAGE AND CLEAN UP: The contractor's materials and equipment shall be neatly stored and protected at the end of each day. Clean up and removal of all debris, spoils and waste shall be accomplished at the end of each day'swork. Disposal shall be off base.

Upon completion, the premises shall be left in a neat, clean and unobstructed condition.

7. WORKING CONDITIONS: The facility and adjacent area will be occupied and utilized during the performance of work above. The contractor shall perform work in such a manner as to cause minimum of interference to the facility and the surrounding area. The Contractor shall be responsible for correcting any damage caused by or incidental to construction.

8. CONTRACTOR FOREMAN: The contractor's foreman or representative shall have the capability of speaking and understanding the English language.
