Addendum#1 Solicitation FA441816HOIST

Question and Answers 19 August 2016

The purpose of this addendum is as follows:

c. We are looking at performing all load testtests in a one month period,toperiod, to keep cost down, within the first month of the contract, would that be possible to schedule?

Answer 1: Answer: No. Early load testing will invalidate current certifications and any previous visual inspections performed. It is the Government’s desire to have load tests conducted in conjunction with the scheduled Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) where load tests may be required. It is preferred that the Contractor’s submitted schedule represent a more evenly balanced monthly workload for PMI and applicable load tests as well as meet any other scheduling requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Question 2: When it comes time to load test the cranes will we also be load testing the above ground vehicleVehicle lifts too? Or are those exempt formfrom the load test?

Answer:Answer 2: There are no perdioical load testperiodic load tests requirements, those units are only load tested if there is a repair that would require a load test. Repairs are not included in the firm fixed price contract line item.

3. Change paragraph 1.1. to provide clarification on inspection schedule submittal requirement. The following has been inserted into paragraph 1.1.

The preventive maintenance shall be performed not later than 12 months and no earlier than 9 months of the last inspection. The government will provide a report illustrating the last inspection performed on each item identified in appendix B within 10 days of award.

4. Change paragraph 1.1. to allow the use of water weights with concurrence of the COR. The following has been inserted into paragraph 1.1.

All weight tests are preferred to be conducted using solid weights although use of water weights will be considered on a case by case basis with COR concurrence.
