About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a 30-ton crane repair contract opportunity. The document addresses eight specific technical questions about the crane's condition and repair requirements, providing clarification for potential contractors preparing their proposals.

The key repair specifications include painting the outer top portion of the boom with touch-up work as needed, while brackets and A2D boom will not be painted. The crane requires hose replacement due to leakage (cylinder seals were recently replaced), servicing of all holding valves, and painting of the tackle. The crane was last started in July 2025 but has not been properly operated in over three years. Additional clarifications specify that the auxiliary cable does not need replacement, and the "Thumper" refers to the anti-two block safety system. This Q&A document provides essential technical details that contractors need to accurately scope and price their repair proposals.
