FA441723Q0028 Athletic Rubber Flooring Removal‐Installation
RFQ FA441723Q0028: Athletic Rubber Flooring Removal‐Installation
PRE‐PROPOSAL INQUIRIES
Date: 16 August 2023
1. The bid requests tile mats, would a poured‐in‐place rubber surface used in gyms and sports courts qualify as an alternative? The surface would be hand trowelled and provide a non‐slip, antimicrobial surface.
A: NO, poured‐in‐place rubber flooring is NOT an acceptable alternative and will be considered Technically Unacceptable.
2. This bid is to supply and install the Ecore Monster Roll flooring in the two buildings and not just install?
A: Yes, the Ecore Monster Roll or an or equal product will need to be supplied and installed by th e contractor in 2 buildings.
3. Is there an existing flooring other than the carpet that needs to be demoed or is it concrete?A:
There is 380 sqft of carpet that needs to be removed in room 118 of building 90028. There is 5946 sqft of preexisting concrete in building 90035 that does not need to be demoed.
4. Is this an existing building or new one?
A: This project will be done in 2 existing buildings.
5. What is the timeline for delivery of materials and installation of the new flooring?
A: Ideal installation is December 2023 due to lower utilization of the training space typically that t ime of year. If it needs to be sooner, that is also acceptable.
6. Will payment terms other than Net 30 be accepted if a significant discount is offered?
A: Please price using NET 30.
7. Do you have a drawing with dimensions or a scale? The drawings sent do not have a scale but only square footage.
A: Detailed drawings with dimensions are not currently available. Please use attachments provided. If details are obtained prior to RFP closing, they will be posted.
8. In the main weight room area building 90035, the “NN” room, does this need the Monster Roll flooring as well?
A: No, 25 Sq ft. area in question is an electrical closet that does not require the same. If using a different type, a transition must be used.
9. If the concrete moisture test comes back high and we must switch adhesives to our higher Rh threshold adhesive, will a change order suffice to cover the added costs or is there any protocol to follow?
A: The contractor could submit a request for equitable adjustment. Would require documentati on providing evidence of changes and coordination with the Contracting Officer.
10. Does the scope of work for both rooms need to be completed at the same time or will this need to be two separate trips?
A: Same time.
11. Will a bid bond be required for this solicitation submission?
A: Bid bond will not be required.
