FA441723Q0007 – Generation II Wireless for SOF CAPA Site Survey Q&A

· Q1. Mounting AP’s and AM at the Aircraft Parking area on the light poles/masts will require mounting brackets, But will it be acceptable to screw the brackets to the pole or would it be preferred to mounted with large u bolts?

· A1. Do not drill into the light poles due to warranty limitations. Best solution is to strap the mounting bracket to the pole with a stainless steel strap of large U bolt.

· Q2. What is the circumference of the light poles at the aircraft parking area at the 12-16’ height?

· A2. Circumference at 12’ is approximately 64” and the pole decreases about ½” for every foot up the pole from 12’.

· Q3. How high up the light pole will the AP/AM actually need to be mounted? It was stated on the day that they will be mounted approximately 16’ up the pole however, Figure 1 shows a “5-15R GFI/WP receptacle” at 12’ with the AP just above it. Are the plans correct or do we go with the given information ?

· A3. Plans are correct. Mount the access point on the pole above the 5-15 GFI/WP receptacle or at a height that will provide the best coverage for the CAPA.

· Q4. Will each light pole/mast at the aircraft parking area have a data enclosure? Figure 1 shows that only the middle mast will have one.

· A4. Each pole will have a data enclosure that will contain a fiber optic conversion cabinet where there will be a fiberoptic interface and an electrical interface (see ES506 and ES507 attached).

· Q5. Can plans for HAMS building be modified to add an additional weatherproof data outlet for the outside of the building? Current plans (figure 2) show only two, single port, weatherproof outlets. -There needs to be at least three; one for each of the APs and one for AM.

· A5. There will be three copper ethernet ports available on the outside of the Hams Pad Facility. Two ports will be available for use on the left side of the HAMS facility in a single weatherproof enclosure. Additionally, there will be one port available on the right side of the HAMS facility in a single weatherproof enclosure. (left and right as seen when you are facing the facility front door from outside the facility)

· Q6. Are there elevation drawings for the HAMS building that show where and how the APs/AM will be mounted?

· A6. No, but there are elevation drawings attached with a concept drawing indicating proposed positions of the access points.

· Q6.1. It was stated that they should be mounted on the face of the overhang. Would require additional conduit should this be added to the proposal ?

· A6.1. Mount Wireless Access points on concrete wall below eave.

· Q6.2. With no elevation drawings, it’s impossible to determine how much conduit will be required from the Cat6 outlet to the AP mounting locations if we are required to install..

· A6.2 Elevation drawings provided with concept of where to place the access points. Access points are represented by red dots on building.

· Q7. Site is considering combining this project with another construction project (adjacent hangar) it may be much later in the year that the data cabling will be completed to the aircraft parking area. Mr. Mozina asked us contractors if it were possible to mount the APs/AMs on the masts and the HAMS pad building, test them prior to the hardwire infrastructure being in place, then return and connect to the base data infrastructure once it’s been run to the light poles/masts and the HAMS pad. Will additional Aps/AMs be added to the materials list if so will an updated list be provided?

· A7. There will be no additional APs/AMs required for this project. The conversation regarding the combining of projects is not related directly to the wireless requirement. The RFI from the Government is simply can the contractor install the wireless devices and test the devices for coverage of the proposed area without being connected to the controller via the network.
