Q&A

ADVANCED SEMI-PREP AND SURVIVAL TRAINING FA441721QMF02

Updated Answers as of 27 May 2021 Additional information highlighted in yellow

· Is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement? If this is a follow-on requirement, could you please provide the previous contract or task order number?

· This is a new requirement and there were no previous contracts awarded.

· What is your definition/expectation of an “off-field unprepared surface” (SOW 1.1.1 & 1.2.1)?

· Landing at a non-designated landing surface, off-field from any airport. This is designed to help with landing zone identification and landing in potential engine-out scenarios. The intended deliverable is training in the fast identification and execution of a forced off-field landing.

· What is your definition/expectation of an “unimproved surface” (SOW 1.1.3 & 1.2.3)?

· Terrain without a complete engineering or active effort to prepare the landing surface.

· What are the ratings and experience levels of the pilots (i.e., single engine, multi-engine, rotor, etc)?

· All pilots have completed Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) and Initial Qualification training in the PC-12. Experience levels are intentionally stratified to promote a breadth of development to our crew force; all but one of the requested students is an aircraft commander.

Additional clarification:

· Specific training for all identified students is as follows:

· Pilot 1: Airplane Single Engine Land / Rotary Wing / Commercial w/ Instrument

· Pilot 2: Airplane Single & Multi-Engine Land / Commerical w/ Instrument

· Pilot 3: Airplane Multi-Engine Land / Commercial w/Instrument / BE40 Type Rating

· Pilot 4:ATP/ Airplane Multi & Singe Engine Land / BE-400 & MU-300 Rating / CFI Single Engine

· Instrument

· Pilot 5: Airplane Single & Multi Engine Land / Commercial w/ Instrument / BE-400 & MU300

· Pilot 6: No civilian ratings (Military PC-12 Instructor)

· Are you expecting classroom or field “Survival training” or a combination of both (SOW 1.1.4 & 1.2.4)?

· Combination of classroom and field training. Emergency landing considerations for both land and water.

· What do you mean by “FAA checkride”? What “checkride” are you wanting (SOW 1.2.6)?

· FAA checkride for float-plane rating as part of the ditching procedures training.

Additional clarification:

· The checkride represents a culmination of training and a validation of a member’s abilities. FAA certification following the “checkride” is not required. An introduction to ASES flying will still be beneficial to the individuals.
