Questions & Answers

Residual Sludge

Question 1 Can you please add some detail on the quantity/frequency etc?

Answer 1 The Government will notify the contractor when services are needed. 50 each is the maximum amount of times within a year that a call will be placed. In the summer, sludge removal will be needed more often than in the winter, therefore, a set schedule is not in use.

Question 2 Will it be only one (1) 25 cubic yard container needed?

Answer 2 Yes. One (1) 25 cubic yard container will be on site at all times. The site will use the empty container and the Government will call the contractor for pick up when full. The contractor shall replace the full container with an empty container.

Question 3 What type of sludge is it?

Answer 3 The sludge type is Class B. Reference Environmental Protection Agency Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Protection of Environment, 503.32(b) for more information.

Question 4 What is done with the sludge once it has been picked up?

Answer 4 The contractor is responsible for the disposal of the sludge by following the Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 503, section 503.33(b) (10) and 62- 640.600(1) (b), F.A.C.

Question 5 What is the unit of the sludge?

Answer 5 Each is the unit that can be used when filling out the HFAWWTF forms.

Question 6 Is there a bid sheet for the project?

Answer 6 Please use the contract, page 3 of the 1449, to fill in your quote amounts.

Question 7 Does the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted as solicitation number FA441719QA0001 on FBO contain requirements similar to an existing contract or will this be a new requirement? If possible, please provided the current contract number.

Answer 7 This requirement is a re-compete of the existing contract. The current contract is expiring and a new contract needs to be established. The expiring contract number is FA441714C0004.
