Q: Based on a internal load of about 15 KW (6 each 1500 Watt + 4 each 1440 Watt) and allowing for normal leakage of the door seals of 140 cfm per roll up door and 70 cfm for each personnel door (also allowing for fresh air supply) we have the following concerns:
Including and basing on the above, the total Ton of cooling computes to 11.5 Working backwards a 3 Ton system will have zero allowance for internal heat and leakage (no fresh air supply) A standard 80 FC light level requires 11 fixtures (40 FC = 6 fixtures)
A: The tech gave numbers for the worst case possible and that running that many heat lamps and heat blanket at the same time would be very unusual and if that would happen they could work sections at one time to reduce the heat generated internally so they believe a 3 ton would work but we are not HVAC specialist, so to calculate the requirements and depending on the insulation of the manufacture facility walls and ceiling, staying with a 3-4 ton as per the facility requirements should be acceptable. There are just a lot of factors that would vary but I don't think we need the worst case but a normal work environment.
Q: When does customer want install?
A: We would like it installed as soon as possible.
Q: Our 2” grid uses ¼” not 3/8” thread rod. Is this an issue?
A: Should not be an issue as long as the ceiling support is secure and depending on material used (are equivalent as per statement of work) may vary between manufacturing requirements.
Q: Where will condenser and AHU be located?
A: With one of our current proposals we have a concrete pad located on the Northwest wall on the outside of the building. As per the layout of the room it would be approximately 3 1/2 feet from the concrete wall and then unit sitting outside unsure of distance/clearance the manufactures condenser unit would have to be located from the building structure
Q: What is temperature of surrounding space? Is it conditioned?
A: The current temperature in the room is 72 degrees. One thing to keep in mind is that the oven may be used 1-2 time a week in that room and when in use may cause the temperature to go up. If the Oven is used and the total ambient temperature increases beyond the ability of the AC unit to compensate then a work around may have to take place to that side of the clean room to keep the temperature down.
