QUESTIONS WITH RESPONSES
FY21 HVAC Closed Water Loop – FA440720Q0015
1. Are the site visits mandatory?
The site visit is not mandatory. It simply offers a chance for vendors to actually view a HVAC Closed Water Loop system at Scott AFB, IL.
2. What is the intent of the site visit, question and answers or walkthrough of all 16 cooling tower locations (and closed loop systems)?
The intent of the site visit is to visit to a couple of the closed loops. All questions during the site visit will be received via email and the questions along with the responses from the requirements owner will be posted to beta.SAM under reference # FA440720Q0015.
3. Is there a webex or dial in number to attend the site visit online (remotely)?
The dial in number for the site visit is 618-256-9281.
4. If found that chemical is required after testing; will the required chemical be bought off contract if it exceeds the base amount listed in the bid?
The awarded contractor shall not exceed the amount of chemical available on that specific CLIN. A contract modification “MAY” be possible to increase the quantity on each CLIN if deemed necessary by the government and funds are available.
5. Will a base amount of chemical be stored on site for addition of chemical if needed? How much is allowed?
Only the amount anticipated/calculated needed shall be brought on base. With exception, the base will not provide storage areas IAW the SOW
6. How is chemical added to closed loops that are being tested, but don’t have pot feeders? Are there taps available for chemical pump addition?
Taps are available
7. Are there any closed loop system volumes?
Yes and will be provided to the awarded contractor. Please provide proposal IAW the SOW
8. Do all systems that require corrosion coupon analysis have corrosion coupon racks already installed?
Yes
9. Understanding this is a set aside solicitation 100% Small Business. Will additional consideration be given to companies with SDVOSB designation?
The specific instructions listed on page 3 has been tailored to this acquisition and provides specific instructions to small business status/categories vendors. We will be evaluating offers for Technical Approach and then Price.
