About this file
This file contains responses to questions received from prospective vendors regarding Solicitation FA303026Q0027 for fire trainer renovations at Goodfellow Air Force Base.
The Q&A clarifications address several key requirements for the renovation project. The government confirmed that post-award deliverables including documentation per paragraphs 1.10, 1.10.1, and 1.111 are due after contract award. The government corrected two typographical errors in the Statement of Work: paragraph 2.4.1.2 now specifies experience with NFPA 1402 compliant fire training system equipment fabrication rather than containerized trainers, and paragraph 2.4.1.3 clarifies that designers must have credentials to meet structural, thermal, and stability requirements for training props (vehicles and cylinders) rather than building code compliance. Additionally, the government confirmed that pilot air blowers require removal and replacement as part of the scope, and specified critical requirements for wireless deadman switches: all switches must be wireless with frequency ranges that extend 360 degrees around each individual trainer outside the red training line, operate independently for each trainer to prevent cross-interference when multiple trainers operate simultaneously, and function within the control room. These clarifications ensure vendors understand the technical specifications and deliverable requirements for accurately preparing cost estimates across the eight CLINs covering material and installation for the Large Frame Aircraft Trainer, Dumpster Fire Trainer, Car Fire Trainer, and Pressure Vessel Fire Trainer upgrades.
