Q&A for Soundproof Booths FY24 – FA303024Q0043
Q: Should the products be fully UL or ETL certified for electrical safety, flammability and code compliance? If so, should the certification listing number and information be required as part of the bid submission?
A: Yes. Please include the certification listing number and information with the quote submission.
Q: Maximum exterior dimensions for the soundbooths are provided in the Statement of Work. Required soundbooth ventilation equipment attached permanently to one or more exterior wall or ceiling surfaces will, for Contractor’s equipment, add an additional 7” of clearance on the affected panel. Are the maximum dimensions provided in the RFQ and SOW the floor footprint, or instead an airspace measurement for all sides, including the ceiling?
A: The maximum dimensions provided in the RFQ and SOW is the floor footprint.
Q: Soundbooths designed and built by Contractor are shipped via commercial carriers and are packaged in large and heavy wooden crates to ensure that there is no damage to the product in transit. Is there a loading dock at the two delivery addresses noted in the RFQ/SOW (viz., Bldg. 834 and Bldg 835)? If no loading dock at the delivery addresses, is there a loading dock on base and equipment (e.g., forklift) that can move the crates from the base loading dock to the two delivery addresses? If so, will base personnel be made available to move crates using such forklift, or will Contractor personnel be allowed to operate base forklift equipment? Or will Contractor have to (provide personnel and equipment to) move crates from the carrier’s point of delivery into the installation buildings?
A: 517 TRG has a box truck and pallet loader and will be able to conduct the handover at Bolio Gate on the date of delivery.
Q: Is it required that the Contractor’s assembly/installation team be present on base when the commercial carrier delivers the soundbooth crates? That is, if the assembly/installation dates agreed with the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) are different than the carrier’s delivery date, is there a warehouse or similar indoor storage space at the base to keep the soundbooth crates secure (from weather and mistreatment) until installation?
A: Contractor assembly/installation team is not required to be present when the commercial carrier delivers the booth crates as there is adequate indoor storage in building 834.
Q: The installation address noted in the SOW is for Building 834 (6 pcs of single booths) and Building 835 (one pc double booth). Please confirm whether the actual room(s) for assembly in each building are at ground level. If the rooms for assembly are located on an upper floor, is there an elevator in each of the buildings capable of accommodating ~4’x8’ panels?
A: All rooms for assembly are on ground level.
Q: Is Contractor required to remove and dispose of packaging materials at the completion of assembly/installation? If so, is there a disposal site for wooden and other packaging materials on the base? If so, and if there would be charges to Contractor for disposal on base, please itemize such charges and/or provide contact details for the appropriate base personnel.
A: Contractor is required to remove and dispose of packaging materials. There are multiple disposal sites on base for both wood and other packaging materials.
Q: Is there is some flexibility with these booth dimensions?
A: A variance of +/- 2 inches for the width and depth are acceptable. However, the height must meet stated dimensions.
Q: Are customary progress payments allowed in this contract?
A: No
Q: Will Fast Pay requests (FAR 52.213-1) be permitted in this contract?
A: No
