Questions and Answers

1. In the SOW 1.15 Temporary Fencing states that we should use orange safety fencing around site perimeter; however, in the plans under Staging notes on page CS‐3 it states we should use a 6’ high chain link fence around the limits of work. Please clarify which safety fencing we need to use.

Answer: Provide 6’ temporary construction chain link fencing (standup with no footings).

2. Will the government allow us to use Bermuda sod that’s already established rather than the hydro‐ mulching/seeding method? We believe it to be in the best interest of the government and water resources to use sod.

Answer: Yes. turf establishment with Bermuda sod is acceptable.

3. Is there a water source nearby for watering the sod/mulch/seed after demo completion? If so, what type of source and how far from the worksite? Will hose need to run across a roadway or sidewalk to reach the worksite?

Answer: Use 2” service line before capping and water source is on‐site with no need to run across roadway.

4. If there is no suitable watering source, will the government allow us to use the 2” service line for water before capping it?

Answer: Yes you can use the 2” service line before capping the line.

5. Are there any equipment or material items that will need to be turned in by the contractor to the government other than the 10 items as required by 3.2.1 in the SOW?

Answer: Only 10 items listed in the SOW.

6. Will a SWPP be required?

Answer: A SWPP will be required but not a permit the area is under 5 acres. Site will require silt fencing.

7. Are there any hazardous materials the government will NOT be removing from work site?

Answer: All hazardous material will be removed by the government.

8. In the SOW 5.5 ASBESTOS states that to the government’s best knowledge there are no asbestos containing materials. Can the government confirm there are NO items containing asbestos in the work area?

We have no records of ACM at this site. Should the Contractor encounter/suspect previously unidentified Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) that must be disturbed to comply with the contract documents, the Contractor shall cease all work which would disturb the suspect material and shall immediately notify the Contracting Officer.

9. Does the worksite have any lead based paint on any surfaces that will be removed as part of this contract?

We have no records of lead based paint at this site. Should the Contractor encounter/suspect previously unidentified lead based paint (LBP) that must be disturbed to comply with the contract documents, the

Contractor shall cease all work which would disturb the suspect material and shall immediately notify the Contracting Officer.

10. Will the government allow any weather permitted delays that will NOT count against the 90 day work schedule requirement?

Answer: Only if the weather days is out of the ordinary for that time on month or year.

11. In the SOW 1.12 As Built Drawings, will the government require two sets of redline mark up as built drawings for this demo project?

Yes. Provide two sets of redline mark up as built drawings.

12. Will the government allow the usage of the road Ft. Lancaster Ave. for easier means of ingress to, and egress out of, the jobsite returning to and following the same path on Valiant St. that is shown on plans? Answer: Yes. Government will allow the usage of Ft. Lancaster Ave.

13. Is there an asbestos survey for the project?

Answer: We have no records of an asbestos survey nor is there asbestos abatement in the SOW. Refer to answer for question #8 above.

14. Can you please define what the following means? “Demolished area shall be backfilled with soil and turf that is established.” This is the last sentence in 1.2 PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Answer: Following demolition the Contractor shall backfill, grade and ensure positive site drainage. Also establish turf within the site area.

15. Also, will additional backfill (beside what is reused from between pool liners) come from an outside source (provided by contractor) or a government stockpile on site?

Answer: All backfill will be provided by the Contractor (not Government stockpile).

16. Can any of the concrete pool liner material or other clean debris be used for backfill below a certain depth?

Answer: No. all concrete pool liner shall be removed and deposed off base at the Contractor expense.
