About this file

This document is a set of Requests for Information (RFI) Answers related to Solicitation FA302224R0004 for the B900 Roof Repair project. The key details are:

The government responded to several RFIs regarding the roofing work, including: 1) There should be no need for evening or weekend work as long as building access and HVAC are not impeded; 2) There are no abandoned penetrations on the B900 building; 3) The fall protection system installed will be for future maintenance, not just temporary; 4) The overhang to be added over the double doors should match the size of the existing overhang; 5) Repair of any damaged gutters and downspouts found prior to the project will be part of the statement of work; and 6) There are no specific locking or disability access requirements for the new storefront. An attachment showing the planned overhang addition was provided.

The related federal contract opportunity is for the replacement of the standing seam metal roof on Building 900, with the existing built-up roof to remain in place. The range of magnitude for this procurement is $250,000 to $500,000. A site visit was held on March 26, 2024 and additional RFIs were due by April 1, 2024.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

SUBJECT: Solicitation FA302224R0004, B900 Roof Repair

Please see the Government’s response to Requests for Information (RFI) for the B900 Roof Repair site visit that occurred at 0900 hours on 26 March 2024.

1. Can the government define how much work will need to be done after in the evenings or on weekends. Without a mutual understanding of the off hours requirements manpower pricing will greatly vary among bidders.

A: As long as building access and HVAC is not impeded, there should be no need for evening or weekend work.

2. Can the government identify which penetrations are abandoned? This will help to identify which penetrations are to be removed and which will be incorporated into the roof system.

A: None abandoned for B900.

3. The SOW calls for installation of fall protection during construction. Are these permanent points to be used for future maintenance or only temporary for use during the roofing operations?

A: The fall protection is for future maintenance.

4. The SOW calls for "Overhangs" to be added over the doorways. Is there a specific size requirements for these overhangs?

A: One overhang is to be added over double doors sharing a wall with existing overhang already. See attached PDF.

5. The gutters and downspouts will need to be temporarily removed and replaced in some areas of the roof. Will repair of gutters and downspouts found to be damaged prior to the project be part of the SOW?

A: Yes.

6. The gutters and downspouts will need to be temporarily removed and replaced in some areas of the roof. Will repair of gutters and downspouts found to be damaged prior to the project be part of the SOW?

A: No specific locking or disability access requirements needed for the new storefront.
