RFI 002 – B708 Chiller Replacement

1 - Did Daikin Come on Site to Confirm what is Needed for the Replacement of the 80-ton Daikin Air-Cooled Scroll Chiller?

A. No, but the expected specs are pulled from a recommended replacement.

2 – Whose Responsibility is it to Off Load the Chiller?

A. It will be the responsibility of the Government to off load the chiller.

3 – What the Voltage of the chiller?

(3, 4, & 7 are collectively answered below question 7)

4 - Design of the chiller:

• What entering water temperature and leaving water temperatures desired?

• What is the GPM?

• Is there any glycol in the system?

• If so, what type and percentage?

5 - What is the chiller being used for?

• Comfort Cooling?

• Process?

• If it is process related, will the chiller run all year long?

• If it is process related, will the load fluctuate much or is it pretty constant (In other words, are there multiple process lines that shut off / turn on)

A. Comfort cooling

6 - Is there a Building Automation System?

A. The building is monitored by a centralized EMCS

7 - Do you need BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, or LON communication?

A. There is no glycol in the system.

8 - What does the system look like? Can the Government Issue any Pictures?

A. The current chiller is installed behind the facility in a partially fenced area. No pictures are currently available to provide.

9 - Are there blueprints or Specs on the Chiller that’s already there?

A. We may be able to provide the specs for the current chiller, but question why we would need to at this time. A dated R22 system is currently installed.
