FA3022-16-T-0018 Questions and Answers
1. What type of carpet is needed? It is not specified in the SOW and that also determines the type of glue that will be needed.
The carpet to be installed shall match that of PatCraft, Pd Q4 Modular or of an approved equal. This shall be direct glue down. The Architect has returned and provide a little more details on the product that the base is moving to. They are requesting that the materials to be installed shall meet the CRI "Green Label Plus Program" air quality requirements". If PatCraft, which is currently being used on base, does not meet the requirements, other manufacturers in the market are Shaw, Mohawk, Miliken, and Interface.
2. How much area at a time will be available?
The contractor will be allowed enough area as to not displace the employees of an designated area for a 24 hours.
3. From the site visit, it is clear that there is a lot of personal belongings/smalls, etc. To what extent will AF personnel be moving/boxing their own smalls/personal items? This will have large impact on labor costs.
The contractor will responsible for moving only furniture items and those "Boxed up items".
The contractor will not be held responsible to box up any personal or government owned items.
4. Item 4 on the second page of the SON covers the requirements for the new carpet that is to be installed. Is there a spec sheet or any additional requirements such as fiber type, style, or backing?
