STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR
EEPZ 07-2020H
SABER – REPAIR DOORS & WINDOWS AT COLUMBUS CLUB 944
23 May 2011
SUBMITTALS REQUIRED Including, but not limited to the Following:
See Form 66 (attached)
Provide submittals for all new materials, colors, finishes and hardware.
SCOPE:
Provide all labor, material, equipment, and transportation required to install weather stripping on all doors for the
Columbus Club, building 944. Some doors will require refinishing, repainting and other work. All new door and window frames will be factory finished white matching the south porch screen framing. All replacement windows shall have insulated 1” thick double-pane glass. This facility will be occupied throughout construction which shall have a minimal impact on the building’s functions.
DESIGN:
Attached are preliminary design drawings and applicable record drawings. Designs are considered to be no more than 35% complete. Contractor is responsible for all remaining design effort in order to provide an acceptable final product that meets intent of this Statement of Work and design drawings. Contractor shall verify all dimensions, calculations and code requirements for all elements of work. At time of proposal submission, contractor shall provide evidence of adequate design, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, and civil calculations.
Contractor is responsible for ensuring constructibility and code compliance.
Record drawings may be provided to the contractor as a courtesy at the discretion of the Government, but their accuracy is not guaranteed. The contractor shall do his own field investigations of the utilities and other items in the area and base his design accordingly.
SCHEDULING:
All work must be coordinated with the Government in advance, POC: Frank Murchie (434-7957). This facility will be occupied throughout construction; arrange work schedule to minimize interference with activities.
CONSTRUCTION PLAN:
The Contractor shall:
1. Abate all asbestos containing materials associated with window removal.
2. Doors 3a, 3b, 3c & 3d
Remove doors and re-finish exterior wood surfaces and edges. Remove, polish and replace existing brass hinges. Replace existing interior and exterior hardware with new hardware to match existing brass hardware including pulls and pull plates, door locks, kickplate (match existing door pulls & push-plates).
Sand, prime and paint entire door frame, inside and out, to match existing door frame color. Polish and seal existing brass thresholds. Remove existing and provide new weather-stripping.
3. Windows 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9
Remove existing windows, blind panels above and below windows and frames. Provide new panels above and below new windows. New panels shall be steel stud framing, dens-glass sheathing and EIFS exterior.
Interior framing and finishes shall remain intact and undisturbed. New windows shall be fixed insulated
FA3022-11-R0001-02 Attachment L-1 Page 2 of 2 glass set in white baked enamel aluminum frames (submit color samples to CAFB for approval). Exterior glass layer shall be reflective and interior shall be clear.
4. Windows10 & 11
Replace windows and frames. Either remove existing paint from both concrete sills by sandblasting and reseal concrete or entirely replace both concrete sills. Scrape, prime and paint steel lintel. Provide new aluminum frame, fixed insulated glass and operable windows with insulated glass. Provide white baked enamel aluminum frames to match the screened porch (sample colors to be submitted to CAFB for approval). Exterior glass layer shall be reflective and interior shall be clear. New opening, fixed glass and window(s) shall be as shown.
5. Door 12
Remove existing padlock, hasp, and lock and handle escutcheon. Scrape, sand, prime and paint doors and frame – inside and out. Provide top and bottom bolts & strikes for the inactive leaf. Provide new door pull and dead bolt lock with keyless internal release. Provide 10”-high kick plates on exterior of doors.
6. Door 13
Replace doors and hardware. Provide new insulated metal doors. The new hardware shall include hinges, panic bars, top & bottom inactive leaf bolts & strikes, lock, pulls, push plates, door closers (2) and 24” high kickplates (2). Provide hold-open foot on each leaf. Inactive leaf bolts shall release with pressure on the panic bar. Remove existing and provide new weather-stripping. Scrape sand and paint existing frame(s) white matching the south porch screen framing.
7. Door 14
Strip paint from inside and outside of aluminum frame. Rub smooth with Emory cloth and seal all surfaces of aluminum door, sidelight and overhead panel frames. Replace two (2) panels above doors and sidelights.
Provide new insulated panels with EIFS exterior surfaces. Provide 0.060 rigid vinyl interior finish surface on the lower panel. Upper panel is above the ceiling in the building interior. Remove existing and provide new weather-stripping.
8. Door 15
Repaint doors and frame. Paint frame white matching the south porch screen framing. Replace hardware including hinges, pulls, threshold, panic bars, closers and lock. Provide new brass kickplates inside.
Remove existing and provide new weather-stripping.
GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT:
The Government will not furnish materials.
INSTALLATION/WORK PLAN:
Provide adequate lighting for safe work area and personnel noise protection as required while engaged in work.
There may be hazardous materials associated with this project. Contractor shall be responsible for the installation and work. Contractor shall install proper construction markings and tape during work in progress. Contractor shall maintain a hazard free work area during daily operations. Contractor shall provide notice to the Contracting Officer prior to starting any work under this project. Contractor shall provide As-Built drawings of final installation prior to final acceptance by the Government.
