Page 1:
1. 45 days ADC...What is ADC?
A: After Date of Contract
1. Line 003... is 30 HP acceptable?
A: Yes, 30 HP it is an optional upgrade, however current configuration is 20 HP, if 30 HP is provided must be at the 230 VAC so the current circuit breaker will accommodate.
1. Is factory trained techs acceptable?
A: Yes, as long as quality and accurate training is provided; along with owner manuals.
Page 2:
1. "Removal of existing unit"... Does this mean removed from site?
A: No. Current baler will be removed from installed location (where new one will be placed) to another area within the recycling center compound – approx 150 yards.
1. Is installation to include pit flashing?
A: Vendor may use existing flashing provided it remains reusable during the installation process. However if existing flashing is damaged during installation, flashing for the pit will be required.
Specs:
1. What voltage?
A: 460 Volts
1. Controls - Would touchscreen controls be acceptable (than all the pushbuttons & switches) A: Yes, touch screen controls will be acceptable. Stop switch on both sides is desired.
Conveyor:
1. Is a 2 HP drive acceptable?
A: The specs call for 1 ½ hp TEFC, 3 phase motor with 30 – 1 gear reducer and #60 drive chain. Vendor assumes cost of all requirements to ensure 2 HP will operate.
1. Is a shaft-mounted drive acceptable?
A: yes
1. Are taller side walls beneficial to better help certain material on belt?
A: Yes, vendor can provide taller side walls but not required.
1. Length is specified in detail spec sheet at 18' but Line 0001 of Solicitation call out 27'. Which is correct?
A: Initial specifications provided were for above baler, government apologizes for any confusion that caused. The new specifications have been provided and the 27’ conveyor – in pit is required.
1. What are the pit dimensions?
A: Pit dimensions are 76 ‘ by 15’ and 46” deep (see photos)
1. Do you want new pit steel?
A: The vendor can utilize existing pit and flashing, however vendor can use new steel if desired.
1. What belt thickness, cleat size & spacing (℄)?
A: Belt: 48” wide PVC-150 roughtop with 1 ½” volcanized rubber cleats on 36” centers and stainless staple type lacing.
Do you have a dock?
A: Please clarify how vendor plans to use dock. There is portable exterior dock that is on site, but stays in place and unable to relocate.
What is the size of the dock door?
A: there are no dock doors, however there are roll up entrance doors to where the baler will be installed. Those dimensions are 12’ height by 13’10” wide.
Is a 30 HP motor acceptable?
A: Yes, 30 HP it is an optional upgrade, however current configuration is 20 HP, if 30 HP is provided must be at the 230 VAC so the current circuit breaker will accommodate.
Do you have the pit dimensions & construction specification when it was originally constructed?
A: Pit dimensions are 76 ‘ x 15’ and 46” deep (see photos). Construction specifications are not available. Current baler was install in 2004 but not sure original construction date.
Was recessed angle iron used?
A: Yes, and set in cement.
Do you have a drawing of the area including ceiling height?
A: Do not have a drawing of the areas. Current usable ceiling height is 12’ – the rafters and structures start at approx 12’. Entrance roll up doors are 12’ x 13’10” and must fit through those. (see photos)
1. Response date is Wednesday, August 28th and this will not allow enough time to prepare a bid for the project. Can you extend?
A: Extended, please check FBO for update
1. Are there docks and ground level doors to access the building and what are the sizes?
A: no docks. See above answers for building and entrance roll up doors.
1. What is the dock height (if one)?
A: no dock attached to the building.
1. What is the ceiling height in the building?
A: workable ceiling height is 12’
1. What is the required 3 Phase Voltage (208, 230, 480)?
A: 3 phase voltage is 208, 230, and 460. (see specifications)
1. Are we to remove the existing equipment and if so where are we putting it?
A: Yes, removing current baler to a location inside the recycling compound (approx 150 yards away), and installing new baler in location of the old one.
1. Are you looking for a trade-in of the existing equipment and if so we will need more pictures showing the inside of the baler (floor, ram face, knives, etc.)?
A: No trade-in; the old baler is remaining on site.
