Questions

CONTRACTOR QUESTIONSDOCUMENT REFERENCEGOVERNMENT RESPONSEDOCUMENT REFERENCE
I have a question about the SOW. When they say powder coat. Do they mean the base metal to be powder coated a solid color or they mean the design on the metal to be powder coated?Section 3(b)Powder coat is what they put on top of the completed project to protect it from the elements.Section 3
Is there a drawing available for the artwork?Section 4/Section 6Drawings are the samples of each sq shield provided in Section 4 of the SOW.Section 4
Can the material be overlayed/stacked (3D)? For example, on the 433 MXS, one layer blue, one layer white, one layer black and one layer red. All of which would be attached with color matching hardwareThe designs at Military Metal Art are good examples. We do not have previous metal art at the squadron to reference from.Section 3
Are color callouts available?Match the colors of the examples in Section 4 of the SOW.Section 4
We only use cold-rolled steel, not aluminum & the 30” and 20” pieces look like they want our normal indoor artwork which is not powder coated but still colored and polished. Other than that we don’t provide hardware to mount the artwork to the wall but each piece will come with hangers welded to the backside. Is that acceptable? The indoor metal art does not require powder coating to be protected from the elements outside. The larger ones will need to be protected.Section 3
Can you provide a photo of the walls that these shields will be mounted on and a description of what the material this shield will be mounted on?Hangars are acceptable. The smaller metal art will be mounted on sheet-rock, the larger metal object will be mounted on brick.N/A
Will we be required to assist in the mountaing process or will someone be alloacted to phsyically mounting it to these six squadrons?Negative. End-user will mount these object on our own if needed. All items are going to be at 433 MXG Bldg 825 only.N/A
Can you provide photos that you can pull from google (or past projects) generally showing what type of sign this is demensional wise? Would this be a 3D sign inculding the letters? If there is a photo showing metal art that gets close to how you invision this sign to look that would be helpful. The designs at Military Metal Art are good examples. We do not have previous metal art at the squadron to reference from.Section 3
Are there any requirments for these shields related to corrosion? Will these shields be in a position at the squadrons that will cause them to be exposed to anything other than sunlight and water?Only the large outside metal art will be exposed to rain and sunglight.Section 3
