2nd set of questions 22APR2022

Here are some questions we have:

Question #1: This is a Federal Contract. Does the company getting the award need to be registered in Texas? Some of the State Municipalities' awards are only granted to companies registered in the State of Texas. Can you clarify if this award can only be granted to companies who are registered in the State of Texas?

RESPONSE: No, your company must be 100% Small Business Set Aside to include the NAICS CODE 337910 on your Reps and Certs Question #2: Do the mattresses need to have inverted seams or are taped edged mattresses okay?

RESPONSE: The edge seams can be Taped edged Question #3: Does the building(s) have a service elevator which will be totally dedicated to the install/deinstall labors until the project is complete?

RESPONSE: Note: Building 6586 is a four (4)-story dormitory located on JBSA-Lackland with physical address: 1551 Connolly St., JBSA-Lackland Texas 78236. The building has four (4) stairwells and a single elevator.

Question #4 On one of your attachments, The Statement of Work, under project description it says 1250 mattresses (new) but in the last paragraph it references 1252 (old) mattresses, is this a typo or is there a difference?

RESPONSE: We are procuring 1250 mattresses. Removal of 1252 old mattresses from the dormitory.

Question #5 Mattresses themselves are not "bed bug proof". Using a fluid proof fabric helps to keep bed bugs out. Encasements would be needed to make the actual mattresses bed bug proof. Is the fluid proof enough or do you want encasements also?

RESPONSE: The mattress needs to be fluid proof, if encasement is fluid proof and keep bugs out we're good with it.

Question #6 On the Solicitation/Opportunity page in Sam.Gov, it says award date 4/19/2023. Is this the correct date for when this will be awarded?

RESPONSE: This is not the correct date of award. Usually award is made within a few days after quotes are received.

Question #7:

Regarding the current mattresses at the Basic Military Training Dormitory, do you know (or gues-timation) how old the mattress in the dormitories (Bldg 6586) is now?

RESPONSE: Over 3-4 years old
