Government Responses to Questions for solicitation FA301622R0044

1. Will re-certification off all cables in yellow (OG area) be required to when re-terminated when the cables are consolidated onto existing panels to allow for room for the new panels.

Government: Yes, All existing cables being re-terminated must be recertified.

2. Will the as-builts need to reflect the termination point in the TR and patch panel as well as the point of drop in the work area?

Government: Yes

3. Is the SOW to include troubleshooting and repair of any cables servicing the Yellow (OG area) if the cable were to fail during the process of consolidating patch panels?

Government: Yes

4. Will all strands of the backbone fiber that is to be tested from BET to both TRs need to be tested? If so, will we need to schedule after hours to test strands in use?

Government: If the strands are actively in use those strands will not be tested all other open strands will need to be tested in order concur the cable was not damaged in any way during installation activities.

5. What are the locations of the other AP devices?

Government: The AP devices are within the building once installation begins the Government will pin point location of AP's needing to be relocated.

6. Should all cable be dropped using surface mount raceway and surface mount boxes to allow for conformity and a uniform installation?

Government: Surface mount race way will only be used where drop locations does not allow for in wall installation.

7. Will the 502nd Comm Squadron provide pair counts onto which they would like both TRs 50 pair back bones terminated on of the existing 110 blocks?

Government: The Government will be responsible for activating all copper pairs from the building cable head to newly installed horizontal copper cabling in TR's.

8. Will a service loop long enough to support power poles be required?

Government: No power poles are required with this installation.

I3A 2.4.1.1 states, minimum of 3 m (10 feet) of cable slack shall be provided at the TR/TER and 1 m (3.28 feet) in the suspended ceiling for the telecommunications outlets. Service loops are not allowed for CAT6 cabling;

slack shall be stored above the accessible ceiling in its natural lay, or in the cable tray.

9. Will bezels and unique modular furniture face plates be required for modular furniture be required?

Government: All LAN Drop locations will terminate on in wall/ surface mount wall plate.

10. Will all legacy cables and not being supported by the new cat6 cabling be encompassed of the demo? Or will the 502nd Squadron identify all cabling to be removed and all cabling to remain?

Government: The majority of legacy cables will be demoed, but the Government willprovide guidance and identify all cabling to be removed.
