RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS
RFQ# FA3016-20-U-0033
1. Who is the control vendor for the building serving the cooling tower?
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: Johnson Controls Inc.
2. In the Statement of Work, Section 4 (e), states to update the controls software as necessary. Is there any controls software update needed from the existing Cooling Tower to comply with manufacturer’s recommendations?
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: Not at this moment, but if a new cooling tower is installed the contractor will need to make sure the tower, drive, and chiller all interface together.
3. In the Statement of Work, Section 4 (d), states to update the controls hardware as necessary. Is it necessary to replace any existing controls hardware due to failure of the component and/or device, or is this a simple disconnect and disconnect?
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: When replacing the chiller the contractor shall replace any controls required to interface the three units to communicate together.
4. Does the government require load bearing isolators for the new cooling tower?
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: No
