JBSA Lackland, TX C141 Load Trainer disassembly
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Cut-off date for contractor questions is 04:00 pm, 24 September 2019
Question 1: Are these to be disassembled in a manner that the systems can be rebuilt at a later time? Or are these systems going to be scrapped and therefore can be taken apart into many pieces to best fit the pallets?
If the systems are to be thrown away we can disassemble in a way that will allow us to load the pallets better.
Government Response: The intension is for the system to be scrapped completely but all materials must be separated out by like materials. The base can be broken into 3 – 4 large pieces but will need to be placed on risers so as to be able to forklift onto a flatbed later.
Question 2: Is there a specific time frame from start to finish that we will have to disassemble the systems?
Government Response: We’d like the start date to be as soon as possible and to be completed within 30 days from start.
Question 3: Hoping you can send the following photos:
1. 2 photos of the cargo surface, taken from both ends of the simulator with the photographer on the simulator
2. Any photos that would show the underside of the cargo surface where it attaches to the frome
The photos in the package are taken from the hanger floor and do not hsow the top surface.
Government Response: Please see Attachment 3. The RFQ has been amended on FBO. The customer added the following:”The floor of the simulator does not have to be removed from the base pieces unless it interferes with the separation of the main base pieces”.
