Questions and Answers for Man Down System
1. Question: Please verify shipping address? This is where equipment has to be delivered to for install.
Answer: Please see this Statement of Work. The unit does not have the resources to store the equipment. This Purchase Request requires contracting to deliver, store, and install the product.
2. Question: Regarding the specification of the NEMA enclosures: Do we just list as “substitute”?
Your specification mentions:
* Composition: Metallic
* No. of door: 1
* Cover Design: Hinged
* Latching Mechanism: Quarter-Turn Latch
* H x W x D: 14 in x 12 in x 8 in • Weight: 21 lbs
Ours are:
4 X 4 X 2
4 SCREWS TO MOUNT COVER TO BOX
2 SCREWS TO MOUNT TO WALL
So, ours do not have metallic (and can’t as it would significantly hurt the signal), no door or latch. Size is as listed.
Answer: YES
3. Question: Can you tell me the corresponding building # to each on Medina Site?
Answer:
BLDG 1 464,
BLDG 2 462,
BLDG 3 460,
BLDG 4 458,
BLDG 5 456,
BLDG 6 454,
BLDG 7 452,
BLDG 8 450,
BLDG 9 434
BLDG 10 437
4. Question: Our concern is the BLE, 2405-2480 MHz system that is specified in the request. BLE uses relative signal strength, which is easily distorted when blocked. Obviously if the tag is under an individual then the location solution will be inaccurate. We have considerable experience in location tracking and man down technologies in complex environments using Ultra Wideband (UWB). Our engineers are able to respond to greater detail, but we know that BLE is not an optimum solution. Is this acceptable?
Answer: YES
5. Question: Is the man down solution intended to be for BOTH outdoors and indoors?
Answer: Yes, the system will be used outdoor and in indoors.
6. Question: What type of construction are the building walls? Sticks? Concrete?
Metal? etc.
Answer: The building walls are concrete
7. Question: We likely will propose a wired and WiFi solution. Is this a problem?
Answer: NO this is not a problem. Each offer will be evaluated independently of each other and in accordance with the RFQ. Reminder this is a stand-alone system and will not connect to the Lackland NIPERNET.
8. Question: Is the other location similar to Medina in terms of coverage area, building composition, etc.
Answer: The other location is JBSA Lackland. Please see attached photo below.
