SECTION 01 11 00.01

SUMMARY OF WORK

PART 1 GENERAL

1.1 SUBMITTALS

Government approval is required for submittals with a "G" designation; submittals not having a "G" designation are for Contractor Quality Control approval and for informational/record use only as part of the project file. Submit the following in accordance with Section 01 33 00 SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES:

SD-01 Preconstruction Submittals Salvage Plan; G 1.2 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS

1.2.1 Project Description

This is an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Painting Task Order (TO) to be issued under the general contract.

All work shall be performed in strict accordance with current Federal, State, and City building codes, regulations, Ordinances, and design and construction standards whether included, referenced or implied to complete acceptable and fully functional facilities for the Federal Government at JBSA, and shall be in compliance with the general contract.

Specific and related general contract construction standards are included in Volume II, Technical Specifications are supplied; however, it is the contractor's responsibility to secure access to specific governing criteria as required. The Government relies on the contractor to follow and implement the necessary codes as the expert General Contractor (GC). Contractor shall perform construction in accordance with the specifications within the contract and shall submit for approval, modified Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) as required.. The contractor shall follow and abide by, but not limited to the Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) 4-022-03, other UFCs as referenced or applicable, and referenced industry code. 1.2.2 Location

This Task Order is at JBSA-CB, and pertains to B5122.

1.2.3 Work Elements

1.2.3.1 Proposal preparation

a. Review specifications from base paint vehicle contract and governing criteria.

b. Modify base vehicle contract specifications if needed for this task order, submit as RFI for approval prior to completing proposal.

c. Review governing criteria and generate additional specifications if needed in the proper format, submit as RFI for approval prior to completing proposal.

1.2.3.2 Demolition

a. The contractor preparation activities will involve selected demolition of facility features as needed. Removal of asbestos containing material (ACM) and facility features contaminated with lead based Paint (LBP) will be encountered. This demonstration TO will not require the contractor to develop a remediation plan with abatement strategies, but the plan and strategies will be supplied as being simulated as completed by the contractor. All material to be removed are considered contaminated with LBP. A small section of insulation is considered to be ACM and is to be removed.

b. Remove 1 each 3'-0" x 7'-0" door and jamb

c. Remove maximum 150 lf of Facia board

d. Remove maximum of 450 sf of shiplap siding

e. Contractor's simulated testing and abatement indicates removal of 100 sf of ACM containing insulation behind shiplap. Remove and dispose of properly. Verify manifesting and notification procedures via RFI.

1.2.3.3 New Work

a. Provide and install 1 each 3'-0" x 7'-0" solid core wood exterior door to include jamb and all hardware. Key to match existing locks, prep and paint

b. Provide and install 200lf of fascia, prepare and paint.

c. Provide and install 500 sf of shiplap siding, prepare and paint.

d. Install 204 lf of window trim for windows replaced by others. Prepare and paint.

e. Prepare surface of varying materials, metal, wood, brick, concrete, etc. and paint. Entire facility to be painted inside and outside.

f. Submit for approval IAW basic contract requirements for all materials provided to include door, trim, fascia, siding, color and paint type.

1.2.3.4 Special Conditions

In addition to the requirements items specified in the base contact, the following conditions apply:

a. Work is authorized from 0530-1800 daily excluding Sundays.

b. The facility will be vacant except Tuesdays and Thursdays, 0900-1500 hrs, work schedule shall minimize impacts.

c. Work zone is hot for ACM and LBP, ensure proper precautions are accounted for and taken.

d. This TO includes a work sketch. All elements of this Summary of work and work sketch are required to be completed, there may be elements shown on the sketch not in this summary or vice a versa. If there is a conflict between the two, the contractor shall submit and RFI for resolution prior to start of work.

1.2.4 SPECIAL DEMONSTRATION PROJECT NOTES

This Task Order is fictitious in nature and will not actually be constructed. Its purpose is to gauge the contractors' ability to execute future task orders in the event they are selected for and awarded the Painting IDIQ contract. See Sections L & M of the solicitation for the Technical Factors requirements and the standard to pass.
