About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for a federal contract opportunity to procure training area tents for Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. The Q&A provides critical clarification on tent specifications, including precise dimensional requirements: a minimum shelter size of 16'Wx16'Lx10'H and maximum of 18'Wx18'Lx12'H, with wall heights between 6' and 8'. The document emphasizes that potential vendors must meet all specified characteristics, with no deviation allowed outside the stated minimum and maximum dimensions. Key requirements include a removable, non-slip floor, and the document indicates that the end users are not specifically seeking Rapid Deployable Systems tents.
The Q&A addresses vendor inquiries about frame materials, with guidance that any proposed frame (including corrosion-resistant aluminum or 6000 grade aircraft aluminum) must "meet all specifications outlined" in the original solicitation. The document directs potential vendors to reference Provision 52.212-2(a) on page 33 of the original solicitation for additional details, and instructs that any further questions or discussions about salient characteristics must be submitted in writing to be posted on SAM.gov for all vendors to review.

Questions and Answers:
1. Would a corrosion-resistant aluminum frame be a suitable “equal” product?
Be advised salient characteristics state “meet all specifications outlined”.
2. Would a slightly larger footprint (i.e. 20’x22’) be considered acceptable?
Salient characteristics have a minimum (16’Wx16’Lx10’H) and maximum (18’Wx18’Lx12’H) anything outside the minimum/maximum requested dimensions will not meet the requirements. Anything in between these sizes will meet the requirements.
3. Would a shelter measuring 19 feet wide by 35 feet long – slightly wider but shorter than the 20x32 reference – be considered acceptable under this solicitation?
See response to question #2.
4. Would a slightly shorter wall height but still meet the minimum interior center height be considered acceptable?
Salient characteristics have a minimum 6’ and maximum 8’ wall height anything outside of these sizes will not meet the requirements. Anything in between these sizes will meet the requirements.
5. Does the requirement need flooring?
Please quote exactly what is requested in the salient characteristics. Removable, non-slip floor.
6. Are the end users specifically looking for Rapid Deployable Systems tents? If so, can we discuss some of the details with the salient characteristics?
No, they are not looking for a “Rapid Deployable Systems” tent. Any “discussions” regarding the salient characteristics need submitted in writing so questions and answers can be posted to SAM.gov for all vendors to review.
7. Is this and LPTA (lowest price technically acceptable) solicitation?
Please see page 33 Provision 52.212-2(a)
8. Will frames that are made with (6000 grade) aircraft aluminum be acceptable or are you only looking at steel frames.
