About this file
The document is a detailed specification sheet for XCOMM Radio Salient Characteristics dated 10 Jul 2025, outlining requirements for four different radio types to be procured by the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command. The procurement includes 20 total radio units with specific technical requirements: Radio 1 (3 units) and Radio 2 (5 units) have nearly identical specifications including continuous RF coverage from 1.5 to 59 MHz, 20-watt HF output power, data transmission capabilities, encryption support, and compatibility with military standards like MIL-STD-188-141D ALE.
Radio 3 (4 units) operates across 30 MHz to 2 GHz, supports multiple waveforms including Adaptive Networking Wideband and Soldier Radio Waveform, and offers variable output power ranging from 5W to 20W depending on frequency. Radio 4 (8 units) features dual-network operation, voice crossbanding, data routing capabilities, 99 system presets per channel, and supports multiple encryption and waveform standards such as VULOS, SINCGARS, Project 25, and MUOS. All radios share common characteristics like software programmability, NSA-approved encryption, compatibility with Simple Key Loader, and integrated GPS or SAASM modules, indicating a comprehensive tactical communications solution designed for versatile military communication environments.
