SECTION SF 1449 - CONTINUATION SHEET

SUPPLIES OR SERVICES AND PRICES

CLIN 0001

The CLIN extended description has changed from:

The Helicopter Terrain Avoidance Warning System (HTAWS) desktop trainer should enable the user to train on the Garmin 530W, and Sandel SN3500 units in as similar a manner as possible to an actual aircraft installation. The installation should allow for reception and use of actual VHF communications, VOR nav signals, GPS nav signals, and XM weather reception. Then unit will include the Helicopter Terrain Awareness Warning System. The avionics need to be connected such that the navigation and display information is sent from the Garmin and displayed on the Sandel SN3500. GPS navigation information should come through as GPS bearing pointer 1, GPS bearing pointer 2 and Tacan bearing pointer 1 will be present for the simulator, but no data feed is necessary. VOR navigation information will come through as NAV1, and LOC 1/ILS 1 as appropriate. The unit will have com/nav antennas as required to ensure functionality of the VOR nav receiver, VHF radio as a transceiver, GPS signal for GPS navigation, and satellite reception for XM weather. A minimum 30’ cable should be used for GPS/XM antennas so that they may be placed outside from the trainer’s location. The unit must be able to be powered from normal 120VAC, 60Hz wall power. All cables should have a disconnect at the unit. Aside from the power, and com/nav antennas the unit will be self-contained, in an easily portable enclosure. The unit will include a speaker(s) with volume control which allow the user to hear both VHF com and VOR nav frequencies to listen to. A headset/mic jack will allow users to connect the unit via a standard aviation headset and utilize the Garmin radio as a ground based transceiver. A master power switch will control the power to the entire trainer (labeled MASTER PWR), while an individual on/off switch will control power the Sandel SN3500 (labeled EHSI PWR). Circuit breakers should be installed to protect the units from damage. Momentary switches will be installed which allow the user to test the marker beacon (labeled MB TEST), select com presets (labeled COMM RCL) , transfer the standby com frequency to the primary (labeled COMM XFR), transfer the standby nav frequency to the primary (labeled NAV XFR). A dual position switch will be installed that will allow the user to mute altitude calls from the Garmin (labeled MUTE). Switch layout and labeling will be as close as possible to the attached diagram. Unit layout will be similar to the attached diagram (Sandel on left, Garmin on right.) Unit settings and software configuration will be provided for the builder to program, once our configuration for the actual aircraft installations is final.
