Q & A’s from 22 July site visit

1. Can we install PVC Conduit in the Concrete Floor?

- Yes Schedule 80 PVC

2. What Type of Conduit is to be used in the Crawl Space?

- Schedule 80 PVC

3. Please confirm the spec on the new carpet.

- Tufted Weight 24.0

4. Please confirm that there is no ACM mastic present in Classroom I that will receive new carpet tile.

- Environmental Report uploaded to FBO labled ‘Tile and Mastic Report’

5. During the walkthrough, we saw a detailed floor plan showing the data pipe runs. Can this be posted for bidding purposes?

- Drawing uplaoded to FBO labled ‘B1728 Drawing for Conduit Run’

6. Please confirm that the crawl space is designated as a confined space and provide Hanscom AFB confined space protocols.

- Yes Note: BE shall not test or monitor a confined space for a contracted confined space operation. The contractor is required to conduct its own exposure monitoring during permit-required confined space operations.

. It is the contractor‘s sole responsibility for compliance with the OSHA (Public Law 91-956).

23.8.1.2. Ensure the fire chief coordinates on the confined space entry contract and either approves or disapproves use of the rescue team supplied by the installation FES Flight.

23.8.1.3. Brief the contractor on contents of the space and known hazards that make the space permit-required.

23.8.1.4. Brief the contractor on precautions and procedures implemented by the organization to protect Air Force workers.

23.8.1.5. Establish a procedure to ensure an after-action brief is completed with the contractor at the conclusion of the contract, where the contractor can provide information regarding hazards encountered or created in the space(s).

23.8.2. Specific. Coordinate entry operations and procedures with the contractor and agree upon the permit space entry system to be used when both Air Force organizational and contractor personnel will be working in a permit-required confined space

7. Please confirm that the data raceway from Classroom I through the crawl space to the data room can be 4” schedule 40 PVC.

- Use Schedule 80 PVC

8. Would it be possible to route the data and power raceways from the classrooms above the ACT ceiling in the hallway as opposed to utilizing the crawl space? This could potentially be a more cost effective means and method for the Government.

- No, The proposed option is too disruptive for the building function.

9. During the walkthrough, it was noted that there are panels LP2, PDP2, PDP‐1 and CP1 in the electrical room. Which panel will the new 100 Amp panel be fed from?

- Panel LP2

10. Please confirm that the branch circuitry from the new 100 amp panel to the classrooms can be accomplished utilizing MC.

- Conduit from new 100amp panel to just inside crawlspace power pull can #1. MC Cable to pull can #2 at classroom I adjacent crawlspace. Conduit from pull can #2 to classroom I floor boxes. Classrooms G&H can have MC Cable from power pull can #1 to floor boxes.

11. Please confirm that 1” schedule 40 PVC and 2” schedule PVC can be utilized for in slab raceways in Classroom I for power and data respectively.

- Use schedule 80 PVC

12. Will electrical shutdowns to tie the new panel in be needed to be done on off hours?

- Shutdown must be completed by 7:30am or done on off hours.

13. Will there be a requirement to move furniture?

- Customer will move the furniture
