SITE VISIT QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q1: Will this be integrated with the local access control system? Past experience recommends close collaboration with the security integrator maintaining the card access doors.
A1: Yes, the system must integrate with the existing door control system. The vendor will need to coordinate with J&J, our building maintenance provider and access control system manager.
Q2: What access control system is installed? (e.g., Software House, Lenel, DSX, Amag)
A2: Velocity.
Q3: Are the magnetic locks (mag locks) always engaged?
A3: Yes.
Q4: Will the government provide computers and monitors?
A4: Yes. One computer and one monitor each on the 3rd and 4th floors. One monitor at the resource desk on the 1st floor.
Q5: Will the government provide containment?
A5: No. The vendor will provide containment if required, as determined by the Infection Control
Risk Assessment (ICRA) after the award.
Q6: How many RFID tags are ordered annually?
A6: The L&D unit orders approximately 600-900 RFID wristbands and 800 newborn kits annually. They maintain a stock of 20-25 different types of RFID tags.
