About this file
This document details the salient characteristics of the Covert Armor F1 Universal Fire Carrier and Ballistics System, a specialized protective equipment designed specifically for Fire/EMS operations. The system offers comprehensive ballistic protection, with NIJ 0101.06 certification and over 700 square inches of 360-degree coverage, exceeding standard vest surface areas. It features a Fire/EMS-specific design with 5 standard and 2 flame-resistant color options, compliant with NFPA 1971/1977 PPE standards.
Key features include a universal fit system accommodating up to 74" waist/chest, integrated 3M® Hi-Viz reflective tape, and reflective/non-reflective ID lettering for visibility compliance. The carrier incorporates safety elements such as liquid egress points to prevent fluid pooling, an integrated rear extraction handle for rapid responder removal, and I.F.A.K./radio pockets for medical readiness. Its ergonomic design includes 6-point padded adjustable shoulders, ballistic accessory channels, and a top-loading hard armor pocket system compatible with SAPI large plates, making it exceptionally durable and adaptable for high-risk emergency environments.
