About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation FA282325Q3012 for a New Fire Truck Engine. The Q&A addresses three key points: (1) confirmation that a remanufactured engine is acceptable if it meets OEM specifications and includes a full warranty, (2) details about the existing truck including its model (Pierce Contender Series Chassis, Custom, 2010), VIN (4P1CC01M8CA012490), and job number (24848-8), and (3) clarification of the correct Engine Serial Number (ESN), which is confirmed as 73318442. The technical requirement specifies a new Long Block assembly part number R6114SC-CRX with no core return requirement, and both potential ESNs (73315740 and 73318442) are from 2011 models with CPL 3735.

Questions and answers
Q1: In reviewing the Technical Requirements for solicitation FA282325Q3012, section 2(a) states:
“The supplier shall provide a new Long Block assembly part number R6114SC-CRX… No core return…” The specified engine is a 2011 model and is no longer available as factory-new.
Would a remanufactured engine be acceptable if it meets all OEM specifications and includes a full OEM warranty?
