Target Tow Boats Questions and Answers

Question: Would Aluminum foam-filled boats be considered? New builds of course.

Gov. Answer: Negative.

Question: Are these "target tow boats" being used for training that will eventually be blown up? Will you accept "used" fiberglass boats for this training? I am trying to understand the scope/determination of need so I can best match to our response?

Gov. Answer: These boats will be used for destructive testing. Used fiberglass boats are not acceptable and have proven to not be compatible for our requirement due to configuration, construction, age, condition, weight, and balance issues. Specifically the boats need to be the same, have identical stability configuration, speed and durability factors which are not consistent in a varied used boat hulls.
