Q: What type of seals are desired for the pump?
o A: The seals need to be mechanical seals. The specific type selected by the contractor must be compatible with the motor and the pump and is left to their discretion.
Q: What is the process when a pump is dropped off and a new one is picked up?
o A: The contractor will inform the customer that the pump is being returned. The customer will remove the next pump to be rebuilt and will have it ready to be picked up when the contractor arrives. The contractor will stay at Building 600 to oversee the insertion of the new pump, connection of the pump to the motor, and confirm the proper operation of the rebuilt pump with whatever equipment and tools which are necessary to do so. The equipment and tools to ensure proper operation will be provided by the contractor. The contractor must use their own equipment to load the pump onto their vehicle. The government will not load the pump onto the contractor’s vehicle or allow the contractor to use their equipment.
Q: Is there a timeline in which each pump must be rebuilt?
o A: All 7 pumps must be completed before 09/25/19. The pumps can only be worked on one at a time. It is up to the Offeror what their timeline is to complete this project; this should be submitted as part of the technical portion.
