GLEN 15-2203 Sanitary Sewer Manholes RFI #1
FA2550-17-R-1013
RFI Questions and Responses
1. Please provide the Photographs and site map from the 2013 I&I Study (Page 5 SOW
Paragraph 5.2.1.3).
a. Government Response: Will be posted on FBO. Included in this amendment.
2. For the undefined channel repairs will the contractor be required to provide new Rip
Rap?
a. Government Response: If rip rap needs to be removed to complete the repair, it should be replaced after the repair is complete. However, if this question refers to the “deficiency” column in the table under part 5.2.1 of the SOW, “undefined channel” refers to issues within the concrete bench at the bottom of the manhole.
3. In areas where we replace manhole vaults will a concrete patch be acceptable or will we be required to pour a concrete collar and patch back the asphalt around it?
a. Government Response: Portland cement concrete is desirable in place of hot mix asphalt for patching, if it will be more cost effective. Where Portland cement concrete is to be used, the concrete should be per an approved minimum 4,000 psi air-entrained mix, installed to shed water and broom finished, and the edges adjoining asphalt pavements need to be saw-cut straight.
4. Will a SWPPP Plan be required for the project?
a. Government Response: A formal SWPPP is not required, however the contractor should install temporary erosion control and protection for Schriever’s stormwater infrastructure per the details shown in CDoT M-208-1 where applicable. In June
2013, the US Army Corps of Engineers determined that Schriever AFB has no jurisdictional wetlands or Waters of the US.
5. How many manholes are to be addressed?
a. Government Response: The drawings show all manholes. Section 5.2.1 specifies which manholes and the issues.
6. Is overgrowth to be removed or trimmed back.
a. Government Response: Trimming back will be sufficient if it does not create the same issue in the future. Otherwise, removal is required.
7. When are RFI’s due by?
a. Government Response: All RFI’s are due by 12 July 17. Responses will be provided no later than 14 July 17.
