About this file
This document is a Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) Evaluation Form. It outlines the mandatory requirements for transmitters brought onto Buckley Space Force Base, including details on the nomenclature, antenna type, signal type, frequency, power, and gain. The form is used by the installation spectrum manager to analyze the HERO safety of the transmitter and determine the appropriate safe separation distances.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the U.S. Air Force 460th Contracting Squadron at Buckley Space Force Base for Giant Voice Replacement Heads. The contractor must provide a detailed parts list and completed HERO evaluation form with their quote. The contractor shall deliver and install the items within 60 days of the order. Questions are due by 12:00 PM MDT on September 17, 2024, and quotes are due by 12:00 PM MDT on September 19, 2024. The solicitation requires a statement of work, quote, warranty details, company information, and CAGE code or UEI number.

Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance
(HERO)
BEFORE ANY Organization (Contractor, Civilian, or Military Unit) brings ANY transmitter onto Buckley SFB, SBD 2/OL MSG will perform a HERO analysis. To perform the analysis the installation spectrum manager requires the following information on each transmitter:
Items a, b, c, d (d.i. & d.ii. if pulse-modulated), e (e.i. & e.ii. if band), f, g, & h are mandatory
Requirements are from DESR 6055.09_AFMAN 91-201, DAFI 91-208, and DAFI 17-220
