FA2523-16-T-0001 Qestions & Answers 0001
Question: Can you please confirm operational and non-operational environmental conditions and ambient temperature range?
Answer: The hose is kept in an unheated hanger when not in use. Ambient Thule temps would apply. When is use the temps can vary from 0-60F.
Question: If item B1 is incorrect and the reels are mounted on the vessel can you advise what dynamic / environmental conditions the hose reel & self-winder are to with stand?
Answer: The reels are only used to transport and store the hose. When the hose is in use, they are completely off the reels.
Question: Can you advise the location of the reels when operational, we assume the reels will be mounted on land based foundations? i.e. the hose being deployed from the land based hose reel to connect with vessel manifold?
Answer: The reels simply sit on the pier until the offload operation is complete.
Question: If item B1 is incorrect and the reels are mounted on the vessel can you advise what dynamic / environmental conditions the hose reel & self-winder are to with stand?
Answer: The reels are not mounted on anything.
Question: When deploying / recovering the hose what is the height difference between the vessel and land base?
Answer: The height difference from the vessel to the pier is approx. 50 feet.
Question: Are we correct to assume the hose reel and self-winding unit (spooling gear) will be removed from its operational foundations during winter period and stored in a protective storage area?
Answer: The hose reel and self-winding unit (spooling gear) are never mounted on a foundation, they will remain portable.
Question: Are we correct to assume the following:- ". . . when the hose is fully deployed it will be permanently connected to the hose drum. An external hose (not included in our scope of supply) is flange connected to the hose drum to make connection with tank pipe work . . . "
Answer: No, the hose is deployed directly from the manifold to the tanker.
Question: Do you require a lifting beam assembly to be included as part of the scope of supply?
Answer: No, typically the hoses are transported via a large fork lift?

Question: Do you require the HPU to be supplied with an electric starter unit and be mounted on to the hose reel?
Answer: I don't know what a HPU is but we do need electrical motors to reel in the hose.
Question: Is the hose reel and self-winding (spooling gear) to be mounted on an existing foundation plan?
Answer: The reels will remain portable (never mounted).
Question: Do you require us to apply a surface protection / paint specification specific in accordance to project specification? Should this be the case, can you advise specification
Answer: No special coatings required. The hose is stored indoors and is only outside for the length of the tanker offload.
Question: Is the reel operating in a non-hazardous area?
Answer: Yes.
Question: CLIN 0003 specifies " 2 x Hose Reels and 3 x Level Winds ", should this read ". . . 2 x Hose Reels and 2 x Level Winds. . "
Answer: Yes.
Question: CLIN 0001 & CLIN 0002:- the hose specification for the 600ft hose (CLIN0001) specifies the following ". . . assembly includes all necessary fittings, 8" towing slit clamps, 8" couplings, ball valves, 8" towing clamps, 8" seal O-rings, 8" seal back-up rings, 8" pig catcher assembly, 8" camlock adaptors w/valves and 8" towing clamp handling harness used to unload fuel from tanker ship. . . . " The 15ft hose (CLIN 0002) specifies the same specification. It is our understanding the 15ft hose section is connected to the end of the 600ft hose section, should this be the case the 15ft section should not include the pig catcher assembly and the end of the 15ft hose section be fitted with an adaptor / camlock coupling to connect with 10" receiving pipeline.
Answer: Correct.
