About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for solicitation FA252125QB109, dated September 8, 2025, regarding a furniture removal and installation project at a secure federal facility. The project involves demolishing and disposing of approximately 7 oversized cubicles in Room 152 and 17 MDF large workstations with additional desks and lockers in Room 153. Key requirements include installing new workstations with specific power configurations (dual power outlets, USB ports, and clamp-on power modules), physical or optional digital lockers, and 4 independently breakered 20A outlets in the break area.
The project site is a controlled, secure facility requiring daily escort access, with working hours from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. The facility can accommodate a 53' trailer and has a 2-truck loading dock. The vendor will need to handle local storage of items, and the existing electrical panel is expected to support up to 2 workstations per breaker. The contracting team will provide multi-day passes for base access, and light fixtures can be moved before furniture installation. No additional site visits will be conducted, and vendors are expected to take their own measurements during the design planning phase.

FA252125QB109 – Questions Sep 8, 2025
1. Photos of the existing furniture that will need to be removed.
This is a controlled facility so photos cannot be provided.
2. How many workstations are currently installed and expected to be demolished and disposed of?
Rm 152 Approx. 7 oversized cubicles containing numerous metal cabinets.
Rm 153 Approx. 17 MDF large workstations and 4 additional other ad hoc desks for workers. Several large bridge furniture pieces and 3 - 5 large cabinets Approx 24 lockers.
3. Is there any storage available on site? I understand that both rooms are requested in phases, but consolidating shipments on-site may help reduce shipping costs.
No storage is available inside the building. Vendor will have to store some items locally.
4. Is this a secure site location?
This is a secure facility that requires escorts.
5. Is CPU storage required at the workstations?
No CPU storage is required.
6. Can the site accommodate a 53’ trailer? Is there a loading dock?
YES, a trailer can be accommodated. Yes, there is a 2 truck loading dock for the temporary loading and unloading of items.
7. To prepare an accurate quotation, we will need the wall height details.
12-foot ceilings. When design is being planned, we expect vendor to record their own measurements for precise accuracy.
8. The SOW specifies 4 independently breakered 20A outlets at counter height in the break area cabinetry. Should these outlets be provided as part of the furniture/casework package (factory integrated into the millwork), or will they be furnished and installed entirely by the electrician after cabinets/countertops are placed?
Does not matter to us how this gets installed, as long as we are provided those 4 independent 20A outlets at counter height for microwaves, toaster ovens, etc.
9. Security - Can the contractor get a multi-day pass, or do they need to get a daily pass every day --
Contracting usually makes passes for base access to last the duration of the project. All workers and personnel will be signed into and out of the MOC perimeter each day.
10. Please verify the project timeframe for working hours.
7:00 am – 4:30 pm
11. Please confirm that the lighting fixture and fire sprinkler system relocation will be completed prior to floor-to-ceiling furniture installation. Can we have our licensed electrician complete a site visit prior to submitting the proposal to confirm all costs?
Light fixture can be moved before installation. We will not be conducting another site visit.
12. Have they completed an assessment to verify if their existing panel will support the added work stations? Do they know the appx amps per station needed? This will affect the amount of circuits needed.
We do not expect more than 2 workstations per breaker.
13. In the scope of work, the description is requesting lockers with physical keys. Would they consider digital locks with a digital master key?
Physical keyed lockers should be quoted but a digital lock locker can be quoted as an option for consideration.
14. If I understand correctly, the scope of work is calling out for multiple surface mounted power ports with at least (4)-110v and (2) USB ports. Based on this request as worded, it seems they are requesting a dozen outlet ports per station. Is this a TOTAL of (4)-110v and (2) USB ports. The reply to this would greatly affect the power needs within the cubicles.
This is correct. We want dual power outlets on the base as described. We also want to have two plug in power modules that clamp to the movable work surface for access on top of the desk.
15. For the workstation in the last row, other than accommodating the (2) monitors approx.
20 lb. each, the data component on top that was identified during the site visit, will you need to add storage/shelving to support this equipment? Or just the 2-surface mounted extendable monitor arms? Please confirm. This no concern for this project.
