FA252120B0020 – INSTALL EMERGENCY COOLING TOWER MAKEUP WATER

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q‐1. C-501 shows bringing the well water piping underground into the Mechanical Building at the EPF. At the site visit, it was discussed bringing it in above ground through the wall. Please clarify which installation is correct.

A-1. At both the EPF and TSF, the pipe should be brought out of the ground outside the facility, adjacent to the wall, and then passed through wall to the pump equipment. In both cases, the wall must be sleeved. The required location at the TSF for the well and pump equipment is the secondary location shown on Sheet C-103, Flag Note 10. Attached is a supplement drawing for the TSF provided by the User.

Q-2. There aren’t any locations shown on the drawings where to connect to power for the EPF and TSF. How are the pumps to be connected?

A-2. At both the EPF and TSF, the User will show the contractor where to install the disconnect, and the User will run power to that location.
