FA2521-10-Q-0016, Questions and Answers as of 20 Apr 2010
1) TEMPERATURES: Please advise what is intended by “40 to 65°F”.
Chillers are typically designed for a 10°F drop in temperature (i.e. from 54 to 44°F) although they can handle some variation. If the max inlet will be 65F and the min leaving will be 40F and the flow will be such that the ‘drop’ in temperature will be 10-15F; that will be fine. The trouble comes if the chiller would be given a low flow and be expected to drop the temperature from 65 to 40F in one pass.
Answer: Requirement removed
2) Condenser Construction: Aluminum Fins are specified – some chillers today use aluminum ‘micro-channel’ condenser design (similar to an auto radiator design): Would aluminum micro-channel condenser design be an acceptable alternative to aluminum fins?
Answer: Yes
3) TRAILER: Do you want the chiller bolted down to the trailer?
Answer: Yes
4) The chiller mentioned RTAA 100 is not made anymore due to phaseout of the refrigerant R-22 and Trane is making a new unit CGAM100 using scroll compressors will that be acceptable.
Answer: Yes

Answer: No
2. 102” wide trailers are available at the same cost as a 96” wide unit, do you have a preference?
Answer: Yes, 102”
3. We assume the trailer plug to be a standard 7-way RV connector; if not, what type of connector is on the vehicle you are using to tow the trailer?
Answer: Yes, the 7-way is fine
