CMAFS Fire Prevention Q&A #1
Q1) 1.2.1.1. Scheduling = define how long "the Contractor will be available on base at least twice a month … to service previously identified unserviceable fire extinguishers" - how many hours are we expected to be available? Do I need to schedule someone to just come & sit up at the base waiting for extinguishers? This is confusing. Or will my tech just come by and pick up fire extinguishers that need servicing?
A1) The Contractor and the Government will coordinate how many extinguishers need service prior to bimonthly visits. Per para. 1.2.1.1. it states, “The Government POC will coordinate with the facility manager to schedule an appointment for the Contractor to come to the facility for service of portable fire extinguishers.”
Q2) If units are used by CMAFS personnel and require recharging; are we allowed to then charge for parts/repairs?
A2) Per para. 1.2.2.2 Parts. The Contractor shall provide and install, all replacement parts not exceeding a retail cost of $200.00. For parts that may exceed $200.00 and for additional work not covered in this SOW, the Contractor shall submit an invoice to the Contracting Officer (CO) for approval PRIOR to work commencing.
Q3) I don't see a format requirement for the bid. Is this a lump sum per unit a/or system (no matter what it needs) or more itemized per work done: ie. one cost for inspections, one cost per 6 yr, hydrostatic tests etc...
A3) See Attachment 3- Offeror’s CLIN Pricing in the FBO post
