The project involves removing and replacing failed chain and sprocket assemblies with upgraded hardware (minimum #60 chain and sprocket), performing routine maintenance including chain tensioning and lubrication, and ensuring full door functionality. The contractor must complete all work within 30 calendar days after contract award, with work hours restricted to 0600-1600 Monday-Friday, excluding federal holidays, and will be required to have government escort personnel throughout the project. Vendors must provide a minimum one-year warranty for parts and labor, and are strongly encouraged to conduct a site visit to fully assess the project scope prior to submitting a quote.

Additional requirements include obtaining necessary permits, protecting utilities, removing and disposing of damaged materials, and immediately notifying the Contracting Officer of any unforeseen major repairs or existing deficiencies. Welding will require a specific permit from the Base Fire Department, and all work must comply with current federal, state, and local regulations.

This Statement of Work is stated in terms of general and specific conditions. Any work not specifically stated, but necessary to achieve fully functional doors shall be completed by the contractor.

Be aware that the size, material and location of the doors may complicate repairs. The bunker doors are large concrete encased steel doors located in a secure area. The contractor shall anticipate delays due to site security and escort requirements. The approximate length of the chain to be replaced is 50 LF.

The Contractor shall have thirty (30) calendar days (negotiable) to perform all work after contract award.

Vendors shall include information regarding the warranty for parts and labor included with the quote. The minimum warranty term for parts and labor is one (1) year from date of government acceptance.

EQUIPMENT TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED:

The photos provided are not of the complete system. A picture of the entire door is not permitted due to security restrictions. All inquiries and questions need to be submitted via the RFI process. A site visit will be scheduled to provide vendors with the opportunity to assess the scope of work required for this project.

Prior to quotation preparation, it is highly encouraged that interested contractors visit the project site to satisfy themselves as to the character of the site and the amount and nature of work to be accomplished. The Contractor is responsible for verification of all details, measurements, etc., prior to ordering materials and execution of work.
