About this file
These salient characteristics describe a Crane Simulator, a training device designed to mimic mobile hydraulic crane operations in a safe, controlled environment. The simulator includes a comprehensive unit with multi-purpose replica controls, tabletop mounting brackets, a laptop with simulator program, four 32-inch monitors (three for the operator, one for the signalman), a software license, and a travel case. The simulator program provides training simulations for pole placement and corridor movements, with performance measurements tracking task completion time, collisions, and safety violations.
The document outlines additional specifications including step-by-step calibration, diagnostic troubleshooting screens, and a one-year warranty with 24/7 technical support. Training requirements include initial set-up and operations training, yearly refresher training, and virtual equipment operator simulation. The contractor must coordinate the maintenance schedule with the government within 6 months of award, and shipping costs will be included in the contract. The simulator is intended to help crane operators practice and improve their skills, particularly during inclement weather, by providing a realistic training environment.
