About this file

These Salient Characteristics outline specifications for a Crane Simulator, a training device designed to mimic mobile hydraulic crane operations. The simulator must be manufactured in the United States and includes a comprehensive system comprising a Crane Simulator Unit with multi-purpose replica controls, tabletop mounting brackets, a laptop with simulator program, four monitors (three for the operator and one for the signalman), software license, and travel case. The simulator program provides training simulations for pole placement and corridor movements, with performance measurements tracking task completion time, collisions, and safety violations.

Additional requirements include calibration and maintenance features with step-by-step parameter calibration, diagnostic troubleshooting screens, and replacement parts. The package offers a 1-year warranty, 24/7 technical support with software updates and remote diagnostic support, and training services including initial setup, yearly refresher training, and virtual equipment operator simulation. The contractor must coordinate with the government within 6 months of award to confirm maintenance schedules, and shipping costs will be included in the contract. The goal is to provide a safe, controlled environment for crane operators to practice and improve their skills, particularly during inclement weather.
