About this file
This document is a detailed specification for a Landing Zone Safety Officer (LOM) training simulation system for Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) at Ramstein Air Base. The system requires AFSOC certification and must seamlessly integrate with existing Wing Flying Hour Programs. Key technical requirements include flexible hardware configurations with small and large multitouch displays, motorized display stands, specialized displays for radio communications, weather information, and ground/air surveillance, and robust virtual classroom and planning software capabilities.
The proposed system includes a controller position with a headset, a supervisor/pilot instructor position with three screens, three visual databases, a network switch, user documentation, on-site operational and technical training, and five years of software/hardware support. Optional items include a chair and desk for the supervisor and a mobile simulator. The specification emphasizes the system's ability to integrate with and simulate tactical airfield and communication equipment used in real-world operations, with customized training scenarios specifically tailored to Ramstein AB's training needs.
