About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a 99 FSS ALS Auditorium AV System procurement. The Q&A addresses six key points related to the audiovisual system installation, including electrical power provisions, installation timeline, and contract specifications. Notably, the government amended the solicitation from 60 to 90 days after receipt of order (ARO) and clarified that this is a commodity contract to which wage determination regulations do not apply.

The Q&A provides specific details about installation requirements, such as confirming electrical power availability at the lectern location, indicating uncertainty about video wall electrical and cable pathways, and referencing an existing electrical outlet in the A/V room for the main equipment rack. The government directs bidders to quote based on existing solicitation information and to refer to the items list for specific equipment details like TV size. The document suggests the installation will occur after auditorium construction is completed, with contractors expected to work within the 90-day delivery timeframe.

99 FSS ALS Auditorium AV System Q&A

1. Will there be electrical power and a pathway to pull cable provided at the floor location where the lectern will be stationed?

Yes.

2. Will there be electrical power and a pathway to pull cable provided on the wall that the video wall is to be mounted on? At a minimum I would suggest a quad electrical outlet and a separate conduit chase for the cables to feed the video wall signal to be placed in the rough center of the wall.

The government currently can’t answer this question, and we do not intend to extend the quote due date. Please quote based off the information provided in the solicitation.

3. Will there be a dedicated electrical outlet provided for the main equipment rack, or will we use one of the existing outlets down low that I saw?

I believe the contractor is referring to the electrical outlet in the A/V room. If that’s the case, we will be using the existing outlet.

4. Is it acceptable to use a 65-inch TV for the rear confidence monitor? The distance from the stage may make it hard to see on a 55-inch TV.

Please refer to the items list which states the size of the tv.

5. It was mentioned that when we install the auditorium construction will be finished. What is the approximate date that we will be able to start our installation, that our 60 days to deliver will start from?

We amended the solicitation from 60 Days to 90 Days ARO

6. I did not see a posted wage determination in the documentation provided. Can you please clarify? Currently I assume that DBA applies here.

This is a commodity contract. The wage determination doesn’t apply.
