About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a Request for Information (RFI) for federal contract F3G3JE6091AG01 concerning 432 SFS Light Towers. The document addresses a vendor inquiry regarding the reasoning behind specific equipment requirements for the light tower procurement.
The government clarifies that manufacturer specifications are proprietary and confidential but provides the following technical justifications for the equipment requirements: light towers must operate on low or high-sulfur diesel, JP-5, JP-8, or Jet A fuel due to easier fuel availability in remote deployment locations compared to battery recharging capability; units must be suitable for remote areas with uneven ground conditions; towers must support an additional payload capacity of up to 30 pounds for optional cameras or sensors; minimum tower height of 25 feet or greater is required; and a minimum light output of 180,000 lumens total is required.

F3G3JE6091AG01 - 432 SFS Light Towers - RFI
Q. “…wanted to better understand the reasoning behind the specific equipment requested.”
A. The manufacturer’s exact product specifications that we require are proprietary and confidential. Additional reasons for the brand name are as follows:
• For remote locations it is easier to get fuel than to recharge batteries. Low or high-sulfur diesel, JP-5, JP-8, or Jet A fuel operating capability required.
• Light towers will be in remote areas with uneven ground.
• We require a light tower that can support additional weight of camera/payload up to 30 lbs. for optional cameras or sensors.
• At least 25’ tower height or greater required.
• 180,000 lumens (total) output or greater required.
