About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document for RFI 732 OG Battery Replacement at a military facility.

The RFI solicits quotations for replacement batteries and cables for a Schneider Electric Galaxy VX uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system. Specifically, 30 replacement cables are required, with cable details referenced in "attachment 3." The cables are specified as Copper THHN/THWN-2 building wires, 100 feet in length, rated for 600V with stranded core construction and flexible design. Batteries and cables must be shipped to the 732 OG Warehouse for storage until installation is scheduled, with a deadline of 9 April 2026. The installation will involve cabinet-mounted batteries with existing cables not being reused. Work will be performed weekdays between 0800-1600 hours at a single-story military facility requiring security escort, base access authorization, and background checks coordinated through Security Forces. The UPS system has an active battery monitoring system in place. The facility provides no loading dock, and the battery room is ground level, 5-10 feet from the staging area. A pallet jack and/or forklift can be sourced by 732 OG with two weeks' advance notice. Site-specific training is not required, and the decision to place the system into bypass or work on one cabinet at a time will be determined by the technician performing the work. UPS vendor/technicians will complete the installation work.

RFI 732 OG Battery replacement:

Regarding this bid do you have the cable size and length so we can quote and make them? We have the lug specs because of the size of battery.

-100 Feet.

Product Description

Copper THHN/THWN-2 building wires are insulated general-use cables for lighting and other low-voltage applications. They are more flexible than other cable types, allowing them to fit into tighter spaces and be used for moving parts or equipment. They have a durable nylon sheath within their PVC insulation that helps protect them against moisture, abrasion, and chemical exposure. While they are rated to handle some moisture, they are less moisture-resistant than XHHW-2 cable. They are rated to handle 600V and can be used in dry locations up to 194°F or wet locations up to 167°F.

• Copper conductors are flexible "hot" wires carrying power distribution systems' current. They are heavier than aluminum wires but can handle higher current loads for the same size of wire.

• Stranded core cables consist of multiple individual wires twisted together and encased by an external layer of insulation.

• Order by the Foot cabling is cut to customized lengths and will be packaged with the most efficient packaging for transport and ease of use for that particular length.
